Patrice Simon, among the most quoted scientists in 2018
RS2E deputy director, Patrice Simon is one of the 17 "Citation Laureates" in 2018.
Since 2002, Clarivate Analytics has been assessing Web of Science statistics to establish a list of some most quoted researchers in the international scientific literature.
In 2018, Patrice Simon is the only awarded French scientist. RS2E deputy director and teacher-researcher at Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier University, he was recognized for his works advancing the understanding and development of carbon-based materials, including for capacitive energy storage and understanding the mechanisms of operation of supercapacitors.
The French scientist is a nominee in the “Physics” field and he shares his award with two other researchers, Yury Gogotsi (Drexel University, Philadelphia) and Rodney S. Ruoff (IBS CMCM Center and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea).
Patrice Simon adds this prize from Clarivate Analytics to his silver medal from CNRS and to RUSNANOPRIZE Nanotechnology International Prize, both of them received in 2015.
Patrice Simon is leading works on supercapacitors in France. He has developed new porous carbon-based nanomaterials and has helped to understand transport mechanisms and electrochemical reactions at the interface electrode/electrolyte in porous materials.
