Professional Bachelor's Degree - Specialisation: “Battery Manufacturing and Performance (FPB)”

The French government has made electric mobility a national investment priority through the France 2030 agenda. This initiative is reflected in the establishment of several gigafactories (e.g. ACC in Douvrin, VERKOR in Dunkirk...) across the country. This new momentum is creating a significant employment pool, particularly a growing need for technicians with expertise in the design, synthesis, and processing of battery materials and components.
The main objective of the FPB Professional Bachelor’s program is to train expert technicians who will work closely with engineers in fields related to electrochemical energy storage. Their roles will include production, analysis, quality control, and recycling of materials or complete systems. To achieve this, this training will develop autonomy and analytical skills in experimentation and data interpretation, while also providing a comprehensive understanding of various domains in chemistry and electrochemistry, both from a fundamental and technological perspective.
The program is delivered entirely through work-study in alternating periods, with classes approximately every three weeks. It is open to continuing education, apprenticeship, and professionalisation contract modalities. The curriculum includes 450 hours of coursework (nearly 100 hours of hands-on lab work) and 150 hours of tutored project. Key modules focus on materials development, electrochemistry and materials characterisation, electrode formulation, cell assembly, quality control, and battery systems.
