Research network on electrochemical energy storage,
Research center on batteries and supercapacitors

  • On Tuesday 22nd October, the ceremony of the 10th “La Recherche” awards took place at the Quai Branly museum (Paris). This year, the eponymous magazine awarded five RS2E’s researchers in the Physics category in front of 450 attendees!

  • The Picardy Regional Council and its partners are financing the construction of the new building on the campus of the Picardy - Jules Verne University (Amiens, France). More than 22 million euros will be invested to allow RS2E to keep on with its advanced researches on the future of supercapacitors and batteries in a spacious and modern lab.
  • For their 4th biannual meeting, members of RS2E will be welcomed in Pau by IPREM (Institut des Sciences Analytiques et de Physico-chimie pour l'Environnement et les Matériaux), an academic and founding partner of RS2E

From the 14th to the 15th october, representatives of different laboratories, public companies and industrial (70 to 80 people) will discuss recent advancies in the field of electrochemical energy storage and confront their ideas.

  • The 27th of March Professor Jean-Marie Tarascon, director of the RS2E network, has been appointed as a Collège de France Professor at the chair « Solid-state Chemistry and Energy ».

He was an invited professor in 2010/2011 at the chair « Sustainable Development-Environment, Energy and Society ». Pr. Tarascon is now a full member of the Collège.

  • Last Thursday, March 14th, Dr. Mohamed Ati received at University Paris V Descartes during the Journées Numériques 2013 the « Young Researcher / Elsevier-Scopus Award 2013 » from the scientific publisher Elsevier. He received the award in recognition of his research work on fluorosulphates, a new class of electrode materials for Li-ion batteries.
